Mr. Sachs-Michaels represents plaintiffs in state and federal courts nationwide. His practice focuses on shareholder class and derivative actions on behalf of shareholders and consumers. Mr. Sachs-Michaels' efforts have helped to secure tens of millions of dollars in recoveries on behalf of companies and shareholders. Examples include Bangari v. Lesnik (Illinois Circuit Court, County of Cook) (settlement of claim resulting in payment of $20 million to Career Education Corporation and implementation of extensive corporate governance reform), and In re Diamond Foods, Inc. Shareholder Litigation, (California Superior Court, County of San Francisco) ($10.4 million in monetary relief including a $5.4 million claw back of executive compensation and significant corporate governance reform).
Mr. Sachs-Michaels has been an associate of the firm since 2011 when he graduated from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. While in law school, Mr. Sachs-Michaels served as a judicial intern to Senior United States District Judge Thomas J. McAvoy in the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York and was a member of the Cardozo Journal of Conflict Resolution.
