Harwood Feffer LLP Announces Investigation of Sale of Globe Specialty Metals, Inc. to Grupo FerroAtlantica

NEW YORK, Feb. 25, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Harwood Feffer LLP (www.hfesq.com) is investigating potential claims against the board of directors of Globe Specialty Metals, Inc. ("Globe" or the "Company") (NYSE: Globe) concerning the proposed acquisition of the Company by Grupo FerroAtlantica ("FerroAtlantica"), a world leading producer of silicon metals, silicon alloys and ferroalloys.

Globe is a producer of silicon metal and silicon-based alloys.  Under the terms of Business Combination Agreement, dated as of February 23, 2015, FerroAtlantica will acquire all of the outstanding shares of Globe for an aggregate of 98,078,161 shares of a FerroAtlantica wholly-owned subsidiary and merge with and into the Company.  Globe estimates that FerroAtlantica will own 57%, and Globe shareholders owning 43%, of the newly formed company.
